UKRAINIAN LAW Being ignorant of law harms and this is the rule to be remembered all the time. The Ukrainian law - even though it slightly differs from the ours, is generally speaking friendly to business. The most popular form of business activity in Ukraine is a public liability company. The initial capital cannot be lower than one hundred of minimal remunerations, i.e. 16.5 thousand Hryvnia. Before the registration it is obligatory to pay 30% of the capital to a temporal bank account, and the remaining part within one year from the date of registration. Where the shareholder fails to fulfill this duty on time, he shall be obliged to pay an interest in an amount of 10% of the initial capital. The Ukrainian law provides also the possibility of establishing a public liability company with a broaden liability. In such company the capital is divided into shares of a specific value and the shareholders are responsible for the company’s obligations with their own property to the amount consisting multiplicity (the same for everyone) of the shares of each of them. In such a company the range of responsibility must be specified in detail in the company’s articles of association. |
